Rob from Ontela, Inc. let us know about some great news. The new BlackBerry Smartphone Bold 9700 Smartphone from T-Mobile USA Includes Easy Access to Camera Connect Application.Onyx sized splash screen - RIM deck

I had the opportunity to demo this technology  several months ago and I can not express enough how nice it is to take a picture with your BlackBerry and have it automatically go to your Picture folder on your PC. Simply Brilliant! The pictures can automatically be sent to many other places as well so be sure to check out the press release below for further details.

Press Release:
Ontela, Inc. provider of award-winning imaging services for wireless carriers, announced today that the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700 smartphone available from T-Mobile USA includes a preloaded icon for customers with data plans for the Camera Connect service from Ontela. Camera Connect creates a “virtual wire” through the air so that every picture goes automatically to the owner’s PC hard drive, personal email, and/or account on Photobucket, Flickr, Snapfish, or Blogger. The service is free for three weeks and $2.99/month thereafter.

“Camera Connect makes it easier than ever to save pictures from a phone to all of a user’s favorite destinations,” said Dan Shapiro, CEO of Ontela. “BlackBerry Bold 9700 customers simply click “OK” on the Save Photos icon in the BlackBerry Downloads folder to configure and start their free trial. Then every picture, old or new, big or small will be delivered to the places the user wants them. Our automatic configuration technology and service do all the work!”

Ontela recently won the Red Herring 100 North America award and was named “Breakthrough Startup of the Year” by the Washington Technology Industry Association. Its products are available on over 100 handsets from 30 wireless carriers.
