A category for car manufacturers was added at yourshortcut.mobi and I was actually surprised as to how many of them have mobile sites. Special thanks to Tim for sending us a Tip that he uses the Toyota mobile site Photo section to get photos of his car for Backgrounds on his BlackBerry. We added the link to Toyota mobile and added a few others.

With this mobile site you can access the  DIRECTV feature which allows you to schedule TV, Pay Per View, and On Demand content from your BlackBerry Device. Yourshortcut.mobi (mobile site portal) has added a new category for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. You can access  many of the main sporting sites (Yahoo, Google, NBC, ESPN) covering the Olympics, Metal Tracking, TV schedules, Traffic updates in and around the Olympics and much more. All of the sites in this category are mobile compliant and if you are using one that is not listed, be sure to use the link-request at the top of the page; and it will be added.

We have been maintaining yourshortcut.mobi (mobile site portal) for almost a year now and frequently we get requests for sites that are not mobile compliant.

We still want to help so what do we do?

Sometimes we can accomplish this by using a tool that has been out for quite a while, created by none other than Google. This Google site converter can not always convert the site to mobile  but most of the time it does. From your BlackBerry you want to bookmark http://www.google.com/gwt/n .

The largest request we get is for IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) and this Google tool will convert the site to mobile, however the IMDB search function is not available, yes this is a big bummer but a lot of the IMDB content is still available. This little Google mobile viewing site may come in handy for people; but we also wanted people to know when they send in a non mobile site link request at yourshortcut.mobi and it gets added,  we are not making the site mobile, we just use this site by Google to make it happen.

I have been using TitanTv for a while; mainly when I am at work (during lunch) or just out and about. I can quickly see the channel lineup and see what shows are  going to be new or a repeat. I was excited to see when they started to offer TitanTV mobile  but unfortunatly for now TitanTV mobile is not compatible with the default BlackBerry web browser. However, BlackBerry users that use other browsers on your BlackBerry Device can access TitanTV mobile. One example is for those using  the Opera Mini web browser.

**NOTE** You must sign up via desktop first, to setup your preferences.

Hopefully soon TitanTV will be compatible with the BlackBerry Browser, but in the meantime you may find the desktop version quite handy.
