Sharon (Carnival Comics V.P.) let us know about the following breaking news, if you have been following Carnival Comics since they first came available for BlackBerry, then here is some additional great news.
Carnival Comics announces the first exclusive digital publication of a graphic book on the smartphones. The first chapter of Atomic Dreams: The Lost Journal Of J. Robert Oppenheimer will be released on July 4th for Blackberry.
Atomic Dreams is a graphic book about J. Robert Oppenheimer and the race to build the atomic bomb. There is a very Charles Dickensesque feel to the telling of this epic tale of a man torn between patriotism to his country, and his conscience as a human being. “This is a story that needs to be told.” states the writer, Wild. “With the current tension with Iran and North Korea, we need to remember the lessons of our past, as to not make them our future. When writing this story I did not want to make a judgement on character, but rather show that there are consequences for our actions. I feel this man of clear genius was put in a position that I do not envy. Ultimately Oppenheimer graced the covers of Time Life Magazine, had his security clearance stripped from him in a very public trial, only to be brought back and given a Presidential Medal by the same country that years earlier had declared him a threat. This is an amazing life.”
The project is a collaboration of Jazan Wild and Jonathan Elias. Elias is a world re known composer who has been working on a musical composition about the atomic bomb to be released this year with such prominent people as Sting, Jonathan Davis, Sinéad O’Connor, John Anderson and unreleased poetry by Jim Morrison.
Wild also talks about David Uslan’s involvement with the book. “I met David Uslan on the Universal Backlot and within two minutes of talking to him, I knew I wanted him to help get this project off the ground. His drive and passion is unmatched in today’s entertainment industry. He is our Marketing Coordinator, making sure the book gets into the right hands to further the advancement of what can be done with this story”.
Wild and Elias decided to do a graphic book which takes you into the mind of one of the world’s most brilliant men, and into the agony of a soul riddled with inner conflict. You are invited to take a journey guided by the spirit of man as we join the race to build the world’s first atomic bomb. A weapon of unmeasurable power to some, it was designed to build peace. To others, it was an unleashed monster. We invite you the reader along on this journey to decide for yourself and experience these Atomic Dreams.
